Description
Tropical North Queensland has a bounty of amazing mountain-bike parks but for sheer recognition one name stands above them all – Smithfield. This iconic rainforest trail network is the oldest mountain-bike park in the country and the crucible of our top-level downhill racing scene. Come and explore this world-famous facility which offers more than 60km of green, blue and black-rated trails that twist through spectacular vine-clad jungle, over clear-flowing streams and along jagged ridges on more experienced trails that overlook the Great Barrier Reef. Your guide will curate a ride for your style, if its downhill crazy stuff you desire, that's where you will head on our historic mountain. Maybe you are just moving into the blue category of trails, where you like a bit of a thrill, but could do with a few tips to take on those berms. Just starting out, no problem, we have something for you too, we'll get you to some of our amazing lover level stream crossings, with some great single trails, that will make you to continue your Mountain Biking adventures. Your tour will start when our guide picks you up from your accomodation, or if you are nearby to either our Cairns City or Palm Cove store, you can wander on in. Our drive to Smithfield is around 20 minute coming from town or the beaches, it is perfectly located to enjoy a half day ride. At the trail head our guide/s will unload our high end, well maintained bikes and start fitting you up, seat heights adjusted, shocks checked, helmets on, gloves are on, water bottles/hydration packs are ready to go? Let's start. As you adjust to your surrounds and the feel of the bike, your guide will start to chat about where you ride at home, or what you enjoy in a mountain bike ride, they will then start to curate your ride suiting your style. We personalise your tour, every rider is different and we know that your experience needs to be epic, suited just for you. You will have chances to stop and take pictures, grab a drink and your guide will also have some small snacks to share so that you can get those extra bits of energy when you need them. The mountains are grand here, raw and magical, the trails are traditional, you will be climbing to descend. Your epic ride will finish around 3-4 hours from your start time, where you guide will lead you back to the trail head for a well deserved rest and chill out, heading back to your accomodation, in our comfortable, air-conditioned van. There's still plenty of time for you to sip a cocktail or down a beer pool side and reminisce your adventure of riding the tropics.Includes
