This walk reveals the smaller, often overlooked creatures of the Botanic Gardens, including jumping spiders smaller than a fingernail, twig-mimicking caterpillars, and diverse fungi. Bridgette Gower, who has spent over 2,000 hours exploring the gardens, leads the tour at a slow pace to ensure each species receives proper attention.

The route varies seasonally, offering sightings of jumping spiders, mantids, butterflies, beetles, and moths. Bridgette helps you identify each species and explains their ecological roles.

Photography instruction is integrated into the experience, suitable for smartphones and dedicated cameras alike. Macro camera hire is available in three levels, which can be reserved after booking and paid for on the day.
