Passions of Paradise
Cairns
Passions of Paradise sails a 25m Maxi catamaran each day to one of the Great Barrier Reef's greatest attractions: Michaelmas Cay. This is a world-renowned bird sanctuary and the region of Breaking Patches offers some of the best snorkelling and diving on the outer Barrier Reef.
You will enjoy a day on the Reef, away from the crowds, snorkelling, diving, going on sea bird tours, a sumptuous lunch under the sky and on the water, followed by a leisurely cruise home under sail. This is a perfect day in paradise.
At Michaelmas Cay you can lie on the beach at the water's edge, put your snorkel or scuba gear on, jump in and you're on the reef immediately. It's shallow enough for you to swim around in complete security until your confidence builds and you venture out further.
Breaking Patches is one of the greatest snorkelling and diving spots on the whole reef.
If you have never snorkelled before free tuition is available. And if you don't want to get wet, you can just cruise around in the glass bottom boat instead.
Flotation vests are free and wetsuits and prescription masks are also available for a nominal hire fee.
In 2009 Passions of Paradise won a Queensland Tourism Award and were admitted to the Tourism Hall of Fame.
