Pandanus Gallery is in its fourth year in the tropical north. We have survived the GFC, cyclone Yasi, and participated in the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair in 2010 and 2011.
Since Opening the Gallery, we have developed and enlarged our range of Queensland and Torres Strait Islander art, working with other Art Centres as well as with individual artists.
Early this year(2012) we re-located to a bigger space at the Beach Club at the northern end of the beatiful Palm Cove waterfront.
We have added well known artists such as Billi Missi & Arone Meeks, plus a number of a exciting emerging artists.
Last year we travelled to 'Desert Mob' in the red centre and added a few new art Centres to our supplier list.
This year we began a supplier relationship with a relatively new Art Centre on the Canning Stock Route at Halls Creek and are exhibiting four of their artists commencing May.
A recent trip to Arukun we will develop into a productive relationship with the artists of the Wesern Cape.
Since opening the gallery in 2009, we have worked with two printmakers, Theo Tremblay and Hannah Parker so that we now have an excellent rage of lino prints, stone Lithographs, Etchings and screenprints.
